You want to be and feel healthy? Eat your veggies, get enough sleep exercise a couple of times a week and pick and choose from all foods in moderation. Yeah, even bacon and chocolate are fine when you adhere to the concept of portion control. There you go, get a regular check-up at the doc’s office once a year and I am sure you’ll be alright. Perfectly normal, perfectly health according to the common norm of what healthy is supposed to be.

But…. You want chiseled abs. You want cuts and some popping veins. You want no muffin top, no love handles to grab over the jeans. You don’t want to button up the jeans and let the pouch out when driving. You want to look like you are cut out of stone. You want it. But how much do you want it?

Do you accept that you cannot eat because you are feeling like it? You accept you cannot go train because you are in the mood but because it’s your job? Are you cool with going to bed some times hungry? Do you get it you got to keep working just as hard on reduced calories as when having your regular diet?

Do you accept that you will need to do way more than everyone else is doing to get the results almost nobody else gets? You understand you will some times need to compromise on sleep, rest, energy levels? Can you handle feeling like a living dead now and then in order to look like your heroes or heroines?

Are you in understanding that what you ask of your body is not normal or natural or even desired by the human nature? Do you understand you are working against human behavior? Are you aware that you are fighting the whole system? That you got to outsmart and THINK more than just act according to what your body tells you?

You got to get used to being tired. You got to get used to not being able to think clearly on occasion. You will get a pissy attitude, a shitty mood, you will feel all angry, frustrated, sad, miserable, misunderstood, misplaced, out of place, out of order, out of function. Dead.

You will need to do many workouts feeling like crap. You will feel all crippled and old some times. You will question all you are doing many times. Why…. Why.. Is it worth it you ask.

You will go through periods of time where you truly think your body is messed up, not working properly. You will start fantasizing about the perfect pill to get to where you want easier You will also need to resist people’s trying to get you to try drugs because they say “well everyone is doing it”.

No, NOT EVERYONE IS DOING IT.  And you don’t want to be one of those who do. It’s a quick fix, you won’t be able to keep it, how the heck will you ever again want to train and diet without chemical assistance if you once did it and you saw how much easier it is to be helped that way?

If you can say “yeah, I can do this, no problem, I see beyond the moment being for a higher purpose and it is all worth it because it’s what I want”, then, you have what it takes. The only thing you got to prove to pass the exam is being a doer, not a thinker or a dreamer. Prove it. Do it. And see how much more you can accomplish when you stop complaining and just get the work done.
